- Optical solitons, including coherent and incoherent solitons, soliton-induced waveguide, their interactions, and the effects of soliton interactions on the degrees of coherence of the light.
- Optical modulation instability (MI) in nonlinear media, including MI of coherent or incoherent light in instantaneous or noninstantaneous nonlinear media, and the nonlinear dynamics of MI.
